the tutors you choose. We require all educators listed in our regulated section to
provide their DBS checks and ask them to share their relevant qualifications (such as
University Degrees & QTS certificates), so you can trust that your child’s tutor is both
qualified and vetted for your peace of mind.

FAQs
The majority of tuition websites are unregulated – this means that anyone who pays a fee can advertise on their website – with no background checks whatsoever! We actively encourage everyone to get a DBS check and share their qualifications (e.g. Degrees, QTS certificates) with us. When they provide us with their DBS Update number and we verify it, they get a Regulated stamp on their profile and are placed onto the Regulated part of our directory. Until they provide us with this information, they will not get access to this part of the site. You can search the entire database, however if you want additional security, tick the Regulated check box and only those who have provided proof of their DBS will appear in your search column. Read T&Cs for more information.
Not quite. While teachers make up a large part of our directory, we decided to open it out to other subject specialists who wish to share their passion via tuition. These subject specialists may not have a University Degree or QTS certification but they have a skill or hobby to share with you. They may speak fluent Japanese, be a chess master, or a pro at playing the guitar or piano. Many of these things do not require a degree, but they have taken time to become experts in their field. We took the approach that not everything can be pigeon-holed into a degree, so we wanted to provide these subject specialists with a chance to showcase their skills to you. If you are looking for teachers only (to work with your child for instance) – look out for a teacher stamp on their page. They only get this stamp if they have shared with us their official teaching qualifications. Quick Tip - Always ask to see their qualifications in person before starting.
On the main page, start by using the search button and input what you are looking for. In your results page you can filter your results in many ways, including price, experience, type of tuition (e.g. face to face, online or small group tuition) and distance from you, all which will help you discover your ideal teacher. There isn’t one. For parents AT2T is completely free. We ask tutors to pay a small fee to advertise on our website.
